Galaxies are groups of thousands of systems clumped together, usually with a giant black hole in the middle. Galaxies vary in size, but the Milkyway where we live has almost 4000 systems and stretches out for about 100,000 lightyears. For reference, the distance from here to the sun is only 8 light-minutes!
